Free DeliveryThis Hudoq mask is used during harvesting festivals by the kayan kenyah tribe of Sarawak. It is made of light wood and featuring a hornbill spirit. Normally a hudoq mask is painted in black,red and white paint but this particular mask is not painted but carved in low relief with organic design that represents the Hornbill. Such type of hudoq are rare and only found from a particular kenyah kayan tribe that are from the inland which are more primitive without access to paint. Collected from the 1980s from private collection
