Dayak Blow Pipe Dart Pith Corn Tool

This is a tool for making the poison dart’s Pith Corn flyer. A pith corn or soft wood would be inserted on the tip of this tool and shave off the side to get perfect size of flyer for the blow pipe. Normally such tool are made very simple but this particular example is exquisitely made with exotic hard wood carved with a ancestor guardian figure. Probably would be use by an important member of the tribes. collected in the 80s.
