Dayak are very skilled carver and one of the tools they use is this the carving knife. Such carving knife handle are made by skilled carver as a hobby for pleasure and to also to harness their skills and creativity. This hilt is made from top quality large deer antler and buffalo horn slice to ornate its hilt tip of with a guardian figure on the end of the hilt. The style and carving work shows it is from a kenyah  tribe and was collected in the 90s.
