Dayak Mandau Handle From Wood With Fine Carving.

This is from an old collection of a Mandau wood handle from the 80s. Made by skilled carver from the kayan-kenyah tribe of Borneo. The handle is beautifully carved with flying Aso which resembles i larger shadow of it self with its protruding tongue and powerful eyes. The bottom of the handle is also finely carved with tendril motif and  nicely mounted on a custom  stand. This handle has never been use and were made by Dayak as hobby or pleasure only .
