This intricately carved wooden sculpture represents six seated ancestor figures (adu zatua) from Nias Island. The figures are shown in a meditative pose, hands clasped at the chest, embodying ancestral wisdom and protection for the living community.

Traditionally, such figures were placed in homes or community houses (omo hada) to honor ancestors and invoke blessings, fertility, and guidance. The craftsmanship reflects the distinct geometric and symbolic style characteristic of Northern Nias woodcarving traditions.
