Old Sarawak Orang Ulu Carving Sculpture Of A Head Hunter Hunter With A Pig

This is a vintage sculpture done by an orang ulu master carver in the 60s. Sculpted out of a single piece of ironwood this figure represents the daily life of a hunter in the wild jungle of Borneo. Delicately carved with such precision from hand tools this sculpture has such expressive feature with its muscular body with tattoo, Traditional hair cut and long ear lobes decorated with ear piercing. The pig is exceptionally sculpted and  overall execution of  body poster is perfect. An iconic Sarawak sculpture!
