Borneo is known as the land of head hunters. This sculpture made by a dayak head hunter in the 60s when Sarawak was first establish. They were expert in hand carvings and wood work as they work all day building they beautiful long house and sculpture. As head hunting tradition has subside in Borneo since the establishment of Sarawak, head hunters do carving work as a past time to reminisce the glorious days of head hunting. The sclupture comes with 4 part with are attach to the figure 1 sword and 3 feathers for the headdress. 1 piece is missing on the Childs hand as this was acquired from an old collection. This sculpture express the lifestyle of a head hunter with its traditional tattoo and tradition of head hunting to the next generation.
