Antique Batak Auspicious Calendars With Gecko, Snake And Scorpion

Such calendar were once proudly hung in the house of Batak tribes and were use to determine auspicious occasions and festivals. During this festivals the Batak would sacrifice buffalo to their ancestor and would use the remaining parts such as the bone and horn of the buffalo to create their ritual object. This calendar is made of the ribs of the buffalo and engrave with their calendar, auspicious inscription and skillfully set reptiles like the lizard, gecko and snake to signify prosperity and success.
