Borneo Iban Monkey Ceremonial Mask

This is a ceremonial mask which is used during the rice harvesting festival. The mask represents a monkey spirit  with white, red stripes with sharp teeth. Normally a performer will wear a cape covered with plant fiber and dress like like a monkey. 20th century.
