Old Dayak Baby Carrier For Birth Right Ceremony Carved of Ironwood With Aso Motif

This is a ceremonial baby carrier use in birth right. Used by chief ‘s heir, a shaman’s heir or a heir of a great warrior. It is delicately carved out of a single piece of ironwood with an aso  figure in its center, 2 dragons on its side, tree of life motif trought out the carrier and 2 archaic alien figure on the side which act as a holder for the carrier straps. The rim of this carrier is delicately finish with rattan binding. This piece is collected in the 80s and probably made in the 60s from the kenyah tribe of east Borneo. The quality of wood is superb and the carving work of this piece is an exceptional artistic.
