Agom is a fertility charms used by the Dayak Iban of Borneo. It is place near a rice hut and are use are to protect the rice and also for the fertility of the rice field. The Charm is depicted in the form of a male and a female ancestor figure with the male figure supporting the female on the top. Both figure can be seen with its mouth calling out for the sprits help to fertilize the field and the people. Carved with delicate and precision from a single piece of ironwood. 20th century
