This ironwood spatula is from the iban tribe of Borneo. It was use for ceremonial purpose such as offering and cooking. What’s interesting about this spatula is the figure on the handle of this beauty.

A female figure with it hands together and seems like she is pregnant. The figure seems like she is praying or seeking blessing from the gods or from their ancestor. This spatula would have been use for auspicious occasion. early 1900s.
